Jackson River Community Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution that is owned and operated by its members and promotes the credit union philosophy. We provide a full range of financial services at very competitive rates and useful information to help our members in all of their financial endeavors.
Jackson River Community Credit Union was founded in 1953 for the employees of Westvaco. Since the credit union’s founding, membership has gone through several changes and much growth.
Currently there are 17 employees handling our teller line, member services, loan offices,
Bookkeeping, and management. The board of directors consists of 7 board members.
With growth planned in the coming years we’ll continue to keep our members top priority.
Jackson River Community Credit Union is chartered under state law. State chartered credit unions are regulated by their state credit union department. NCUA administers the federal insurance fund (NCUSIF), which covers all federal credit unions and most state chartered credit unions. No taxpayer money is used for regulating and overseeing federal credit unions, as all activities of NCUA and the NCUSIF are funded by credit unions.
